The Boss 913 A1 is efficient and boasts of a host of features. Whether it is the new steering wheel and combination for better driver comfort, or the improved bumper positioning for better protection, you have a utilitarian vehicle for your transport needs. Then, the sleeping provision in a day cab is an added feature, and the superior mechanism of the vehicle offers better overall comfort.
Available in loading spans of 14 feet, 17 feet, 20 feet, 22 feet and 24 feet, the Boss 1413 asserts itself across the entire spectrum of ICV operations, from extremely dense loads to fast TAT light loads. Thanks to superior aggregates and a finely calibrated ‘optimised driveline’, the Boss always delivers the pinnacle of performance. The proven H-Series 4-cylinder engine has a change interval of 40,000 kilometres / 6 months – the highest-in-class of any ICV. Equipped with iEGR, Ashok Leyland’s home-grown advanced EGR, the BS-IV compliant engine churns out 130 HP of power with 450 NM of torque. This is connected to a 6-speed overdrive gearbox, which extracts the maximum out of the engine with its precise gear selection and reduced gear shift. The optimised gear ratios make gear selection an even more subtle, efficient exercise. In an industry first, Ashok Leyland also brought in an automatic transmission option in this prime ICV. The heavy-duty rear axle comes not just with a 10 tonne load capacity and an 8-litre oil capacity, but a solid 3-year/3 lakh kilometre standard warranty and 4year / 4lakh Km engine and driveline warranty . The front axle pulls its weight with a revolutionary 3-piece tie rod design, capable of 4.8 tonnes. Add to this one of the smallest turning circle diameters, and the Boss emerges as a marvel of manoeuvrability in the trickiest of spots.
The Ashok Leyland Boss is among the most advanced ICV in the market. Its unmistakable design, industry-first specs and proven performance make it a highly recognized vehicle across a range of applications. However, what Boss is renowned for the most is its ultimate reliability. No matter the road or load conditions, the performance of this vehicle is unfailing and no matter what the crisis, the support system is airtight. Ashok Leyland has tested the Boss over close to 10 lakh kilometres on road trials and 24 lakh kilometres of endurance testing. The highly durable aggregates come with a performance guarantee as well as a maintenance warranty. For instance, the propeller shaft has lifetime lubrication warranty. The anti-roll bars offer unmatched stability to every ride. The robust rear suspension is a multi-leaf setup with a higher leaf spring span and thickness, and a helper spring for reliability on greater loads.
A completely ribbed floor, roof and front panels bring great strength to the vehicle, while heavy doors ensure minimum distortion in case of a mishap. A stronger stabilizer bar in front, and the multi-fold, layered structure offers added protection. First of its kind anti-roll bar delivers greater stability even at speed. Safety is built-in with the Boss. And so is comfort. The hydraulic power steering system makes for an effortless drive even on non-linear trips. The hydraulically tiltable cabin is among the most spacious in its class. Features like LED lighting, cell phone charger and document holder make for a comfortable, self-sufficient driving experience. The hand primer located outside the cabin makes for easy accessibility while removing air locks. The seats are 6-way adjustable, and when coupled with the tiltable telescopic steering, offer endless ergonomic permutations. If the heat still beats the best-in-class ventilation system, turn on the air conditioning for a no-sweat trip. Truly the Boss, inside and out.
A revolutionary BSIV technology that enables efficient, hassle-free transition. Unlike SCR systems, iEGR needs no AdBlue for emission control. It also does not need additional sensors or complex electronics and in fact shares common parts with BSIII engines. Despite this, iEGR delivers better mileage and lower maintenance cost. Combining the best of CRS (Common Rail System) and EGR, it uses improved in-cylinder combustion management for reduced injection pressure leading to better engine life, successfully meeting BS IV emission norms. It’s efficient exhaust and combustion system results in 10% better fuel efficiency than BS III engines in some applications. iEGR is the most ideal BSIV technology for your business.
